For this twilly, I drew inspiration from krashanky — traditional dyed Easter eggs from different regions of Ukraine.

Each ornament carries a unique visual language shaped by local customs, nature, and centuries-old folk traditions. The motifs featured in this design are based on authentic regional patterns, reinterpreted through a contemporary artistic lens while preserving their symbolic essence.

More than decorative objects, Ukrainian krashanky and pysanky are cultural archives. Their symbols speak of renewal, protection, fertility, harmony, and the cyclical rhythms of life. By bringing together patterns from various regions of Ukraine, this twilly becomes a tribute to the country’s rich cultural heritage and the diversity of its folk art traditions.

Through silk, color, and ornament, these ancestral stories continue to live and travel into the present.

For light refreshing, a garment steamer may be used on a delicate setting. Avoid prolonged exposure to steam in one area.

If necessary, the garment may be gently hand washed in cool water using a mild detergent specifically designed for silk. Do not wring or twist the fabric. Lay flat or hang to dry away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
